#2: Week 17.
Time is just flying by with this baby #2.
Our last doctor's appointment went great, literally waited an hour and had my blood pressure taken and listened to the baby's heartbeat and that's it. Really, really looking forward to our next appointment to find out if it's a boy or girl. I don't have a hunch, just like last time, but I am completely prepared for it to be another boy. Having a little bro for Cam will be presh and we will be so excited! Things have been normal for me as far as pregnancy goes. I typically don't "feel" pregnant except when I'm working out or hurrying to the bathroom in the morning! I think I'm just now starting to show, not that strangers would notice yet. I believe we went to Israel over my 17th week last time and that's when my belly "popped." Obviously I'm past that now, but still pretty thankful for how long it's taken to truly show this time around. I've definitely gotten my big ole appetite back. I'm always hungry and ready for a snack! Which is a nice change from my food aversion 1st trimester self. I've even cooked and eaten some chicken here recently. I feel like I've gotten most of my energy back too. I haven't taken a nap in I don't know how long :) {Not even on Sunday! Woah!} I enjoy talking to Cameron about his future sibling... anytime he touches my stomach I say, "Are you saying hi to little brother or sister?!" He won't remember life without this next little one and that is special. Can't wait to see them together. Ahh, did I mention how happy I am that Baby #2 comes much quicker than #1! We will be over half way in just a few short weeks!
By the way. January 2nd is the day we find out if this little bundle of love is a he or she. Can't wait to call this nugget by name!

Cameron: Eleven Months.
Stats: No official stats this month.
Size 3 diapers, 9-12 months clothes.
Firsts: First time to Pumpkinfest in downtown Franklin, first time hearing Baby #2's heartbeat, first time dressing up for Halloween as Charlie Brown, first time celebrating Tucker's first birthday, first night sleeping overnight without mom, first overnight without mom & dad, first time waving bye-bye, first time eating a Chickfila kids meal!
Milestones: Our biggest milestone this month was weaning from nursing and exclusively doing formula. You have done extremely well with the transition and I'm just so proud of you! The other big one was having your first overnight sleeping trip without mom or dad! You did awesome!!
Food & Sleep: This month we pretty much continued with your feeding and sleeping schedule. But, about a week before you turned 11 months I made the difficult decision to stop nursing you and we started you on formula for this last month before you turn one. This was a tough decision for me, but after the past few months of enduring a significant amount of pain (from being pregnant) while nursing I thought it best for us to stop. I'm extremely thankful for the time I had nursing you and giving you a lot of healthy, healthy nutrients. Sleep has continued to go pretty well, even when we travel now... so that is super nice. You are starting to wake up very early though. Let's work on that, okay? :)
Our days: Similar to last month here too. You are waking up between 6 & 7 and usually play in your crib till 7 when dad will get you up. (This last week) One of us will give you a bottle and then we eat breakfast a little before 8. You would love to always go down for a nap around 9, but when we are out you do well and wait til we get home. Once you wake up we have another bottle and lunch. You take another nap some time after 1 or so and eat dinner a little while after napping. After that we typically just play till dad gets home and then play with him! A little while after that it's time for bed! You usually are so ready to go to bed and fall right asleep!
Favorites: Mommy's favorite is when you clap your hands. It's so funny how you clap them so hard! Daddy's favorite is how you have become very vocal! You love to jibberjabber!
Nicknames: Cam, CamMan, CammyCam, Buddy
Ahhh, how are we one short month from you being a big ONE year old?? I truly can't believe we are already there! Excited to see you grow into our little toddler!

The biggest Iron Bowl.
Iron Bowl Eve us Thaxton's headed up to Samford to take a family picture. It's not every day that we have every member of our family together.
We are a big Auburn loving family :)
{the original Thaxton cousins} |
Iron bowl Saturday. They built this to be the Biggest Iron Bowl ever. #1 Alabama was coming to play #4 Auburn in Jordan-Hare. Fighting for the SEC West division championship and the spot to go play for the SEC championship, with hopes of going to play in the National Championship. We, as Auburn fans, felt like we had an incredible come back season. Overcoming all the odds against us. Coming into the Iron Bowl in the last week of November with one loss to a ranked LSU team early in the season. Auburn fans were jacked. After all we had endured the past year, just being "in" this game would be huge. But most of us did hope that maybe, just maybe our guys would come to play and beat the bamers. I couldn't help but comment to fellow Auburn fans, "War Eagle, see you at Toomers!"
We started our day on campus at the tailgate. Fun people and yummy food and lots of AUBURN :)
After the tailgate the boy's headed to the stadium to cheer on our Tigers and the girls headed home to put the babies to sleep and watch the game on tv! The game was a fun one. We had moments that were awesome and others when I was dying to yell at the tv! Alabama begged for a second to be put on the clock to take the lead with a long field goal. After having missed 3 of their previous field goals, we had a little hope that this one would go our way too. As the kick went up we saw it would be short, ahhhh a sigh of relief.... but wait our own Chris Davis was in the end zone to try and return it. And return it he did. It was AWESOME!!! We all jumped up and down and screamed!!! And then ran around to find our shoes and head to Toomers :)
Ahhhh, we were a happy happy family Saturday night. Excited for a year of Auburn being on top :) And now we are just pumped to be playing another game this Saturday... Beat Missouri!
Thanksgiving.
I'm really so glad there is a time of year to make you think of all you have to be thankful. I know that I personally often say, "I am blessed and so thankful," but I rarely spend time of all that the Lord has blessed me and my family with. He is truly good.
This year was Cameron's first Thanksgiving... just to make it a little more special. I'm extremely thankful for my little turkey and his crazy self! He has blessed me these past 11 months in more ways than I could have ever thought.
I was happy this year to head to Birmingham on Wednesday afternoon to spend the evening and night with the Watford family. It's always nice to be able to see both sides of the family during holiday time! Thursday morning we loaded up and headed for Auburn to meet up with the whole extended Thaxton family as well as Grandmother, Grandaddy, and Allen on the Martin side.
We spent the afternoon and evening at Mammaw's, just soaking in some fun family time! Cameron loves to be around everyone once he gets warmed up!
{Daddy didn't feel well and just chilled all day! Silly sinus'} |
I had to get some special "first Thanksgiving" pictures of my little turkey!
I talked everyone in to having everyone sit together for dinner. We usually split between the two rooms but I really wanted everyone to be together. Although we had little elbow room it was well worth it!
After dinner we played a silly game of White Elephant. It was so entertaining! Instead of buying individual gifts we decided to have everyone bring something funny that they already had at home. Turned out great :) I was pretty proud that our gift was the first gift to retire (An Auburn gnome!). I ended up with a Wacky Waker... an alarm clock that quacks like a duck!
After the game Cameron's awesome great aunts and uncle gave him his Christmas gifts! His first Christmas gifts :)
After the kiddos opened we all gave our joint gift to Mammaw, a pretty picture of the Toomer's Oaks!
After everything at Mammaw's... me, Katherine, and Amy loaded up and headed to Walmart and Target for some black friday deals. We did pretty good and it was a lot of fun :)
Once again I am so thankful for all that the Lord has blessed me and my family with.
