The Scarecrow Trail.

Saturday Matthew, Cam, and I loaded up to head down to Huntsville for the day! We were super pumped because all the members of the Thaxton fam were going to be there! After meeting Wade, Amy, and Tatum at Walmart to get our picnic lunch we were off to the Huntsville Botanical Garden for lunch and the scarecrow trail!

Cameron did great considering he was getting sleepy and hungry!

It was a fun day of family time! I'm so glad we have several opportunities a year to all get together! As the kiddos get older it is just more and more fun!

Cameron: Nine Months.

Stats: 17 lbs (5%) 27.5 in (10%).
Size 3 diapers, 6-9 months clothes.

Firsts: First time noticing his bib and trying to take it off, first Auburn game (& victory!), first car wash (you got a little scared!), first fair (Tenn. State Fair!), first time dressing like a pirate to get free Krispy Kreme donuts, first time you started picking food out of your bib pocket to eat (it's hilarious!)!!

Milestones: This month seemed to be a big one :) At the beginning you started going from sitting to on your knees, then you started going from sitting to pulling all the way up on furniture... then one night we looked on the monitor and you were standing in your crib! We could hardly believe our eyes! You continue to cruise around the whole living room- acting like you own the place! You also had your second tooth come in! Another huge milestone is that you now can feed yourself! I was truly amazed when I saw you pick up a cheerio and put it in your mouth all by yourself! You also walk with your walker all by yourself! You have awesome control and are doing great! (Still army crawling only when necessary... definitely prefer to be on your feet!)

Food & Sleep: You typically nurse 4-5 times a day. You are super quick these days! You also eat 3 meals a day. Usually consists of a veggie, a fruit, and something extra like veggie straws, teething biscuits or something similar!

Our days: This month you typically have an early morning snack feeding between 6-7am and then wake up around 8 or so. MWF we are off to workout after I nurse you and get you all changed. After that we head home and I feed you some breakfast and then usually you take a 1-2 hour nap. When you wake up I nurse you and then we play the day away! :) After a bit I feed you some more food and then sometimes you take another 1-2 hour nap around 3 or 4pm. When you wake up I nurse you again and after an hour or so you eat some dinner! Then you go to bed between 7-8pm!

Favorites: Mommy's favorite is you walking around the room with your walker like a big boy. Daddy's favorite is your new found mobility!

Nicknames: Cam, CamMan, CamRon

Cameron, you are the sunshine in our life these days. You are so fun and so happy! We love love love you!!!

Tennessee State Fair.

Friday night we loaded up and caravanned on over to the state fair grounds with the Odom and Cochran families. We were pleasantly surprised with awesome weather around 70 degrees!

After parking and making the trek to the gate we headed for the animals! Cows, chickens, and sheep. Cameron was amused by those big ole cows walking right in front of him!

He didn't show too much interest to the chickens since they are smaller and in cages. That coop was loud and a bit stinky for my taste. We borrowed some shoes from Tucker to keep our feet warm! I thought they made him look like such a big boy!
We couldn't go to the fair and not eat some junk food! We had some cotton candy and a funnel cake just to get that blood sugar up ;) It was delicious of course!

Once it got darker it got a little more chilly and we had to bundle our baby up. Unfortunately we think he's bringing on a cold (hopefully just from teething!) so we left pretty soon after. He was getting nice and sleepy too!

All in all it was a fun night at the fair for our little family :) Wouldn't trade my two boys for anything!

AU vs. Washington State.

The much anticipated first fall football weekend has come and gone. I'm happy to report that we loaded up on Friday afternoon and headed South for some good 'ole Auburn football fun.
We met up with Pappy & Gigi in Athens to hop in their car and catch a ride. Cameron truly was such a wonderful passenger all weekend! {We are so thankful for easy car rides!}
We made a quick stop right outside of Birmingham to grab some bbq on the way and then we were full steam ahead for AU.
There's nothing like being in Auburn on a home game weekend. If not for all the fun buzz around the city... then just for the amount of family we get to spend time with! We enjoyed time with Robyn & Greg, Tyson, Donnie, Grandmother & Grandaddy, Steven & Tyler, Ken, Alison, and Anna and of course Liz too!
Saturday morning Cam made sure we were up early and ready for game day :) After me and Pappy went for a jog we all got ready for the day! We went and pregamed with a bbq lunch at Grandmother's house! It included good food, football on tv, and fun family.

A few hours before gametime me, Matthew, his friend Freddy (Matt Frederick), and Cameron loaded up to head to campus. We had to make sure we got plenty of pregame activities in since it was Cameron's first gameday! He was not in a very smiley mood but I do think he enjoyed taking in the sights! Our first stop was Tiger Walk! We got there a few minutes early so I took a quick few shots of my little guy.

{I may be kind of partial to those blue eyes and chubby little hands.}

Matthew held Cameron while we watched Tiger Walk. I'm sure Cam thought it was pretty humorous to see all of us hoop'n&holler'n over these men walking by. We were most excited to see our new head coach, Gus Malzahn walk by!

Matthew always recognizes most of the players. I'm so glad to have him there to tell me who is who. I'm sure Cam will be too one day :)

After Tiger Walk we made our way through the busiest part of campus and went to the Alumni tailgate tent! We always love to stop by there because alumni members get free MommaG's sandwiches, hotdogs, popcorn, chips, cookies, and drinks! We also run into a lot of family there!

We finally made it to our seats about a half hour before kickoff! We are so thankful to have Mammaw and Diane to share their tickets with us when they aren't using them :)

Before half time I met up with Gigi to let her take Cameron home! He did so great, but it was a late game so I knew he needed to get home! But before leaving we hung out under the stadium for awhile and took some fun pictures! Cameron must have gotten a second wind!!

{We love our little Tiger so much!!}

It was a very hot day and continued to be very warm that night. Gigi got a wet paper towel and Cameron REALLY enjoyed it :)

We were so happy to beat Washington State and become 1-0! Since we now live ~5.5 hours away we know we won't be visiting the Loveliest Village on the Plains as much as we would like! But a victory when we are there is always a good thing!!

So I would say Cameron had a wonderful first gameday and game experience!! He was such a trooper and did great the whole day :) I'm sure we will have him saying "War Eagle!" in no time!!
